The launching point for most of my compositions is usually one item such as a special piece of fabric, a colour that captivates me or an unusual object such as metal tubing or balsa wood. 

Then I explore!  Usually the size of the piece is suggested by whatever the inspiration is. I will try out several backgrounds, assemble a collection of threads, ribbons and beads and then just go wherever the mood takes me.  Since I travel a lot, I tend to limit my compositions to a size that is easily transportable. Also because I travel, most of my work is handstitched. Usually I feel inner peace and joy as I wander along the creative path. 

My goal is simply to create something beautiful that is easy to live with.
