I prefer to work abstractly and often explore depth, contrast and movement in my pieces. I use mostly hand-dyed fabrics, because I love their rich, vivid colour and interesting textures. I dye my own fabric when I have the time and inclination, and have also begun exploring surface design techniques such as screen-printing, stamping, and fabric painting. What I enjoy most about creating my own yardage, is the spontaneity and the non-deterministic nature of the process, as well as the beauty of the fabrics that are created.
